Introduction

CIKGU PINTU ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or contact us, how we use it, and your rights under the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

Information We Collect

There are three ways information reaches us. First, the contact form on this website, described in detail below. Second, WhatsApp: the conversation and anything you choose to share in it (name, phone number, address, photos of your home) is handled inside WhatsApp under Meta's own terms and privacy policy, not ours. Third, your browser stores a small number of functional values, listed under "Cookies and Browser Storage" below. We do not operate any analytics, advertising, or visitor-tracking service on this site.

The Contact Form

If you use the contact form, the following is collected and sent to us as a single email. Nothing is written to a database — this website has no visitor records at all. The email is delivered through Google (Gmail), which means the content passes through and is stored on Google's servers, including servers outside Malaysia, under Google's privacy policy. Once delivered, the enquiry lives in our mailbox, and that mailbox is where retention actually happens: we keep it as long as needed to answer you and honour any resulting quotation or warranty, and we delete it on request.

  • Your name — so we know how to address you.
  • Your email address — used as the Reply-To on the email so we can respond, and nothing else.
  • Your phone number — optional. Provided only if you would rather be called or messaged.
  • Your message — the enquiry itself.
  • Your selected site language and the date and time of submission — so we reply in the right language and know how long you have been waiting.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you share with us solely to: respond to your enquiry, provide consultation, prepare quotations, schedule measurement and installation, and offer after-sales support. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing. The only third parties involved are the service providers that carry your message to us — WhatsApp (Meta) and Gmail (Google).

Cookies and Browser Storage

This website sets no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. What it does store is listed below in full, including values kept in your browser's local and session storage rather than in cookies. Clearing your browser data removes all of it; the site continues to work without any of it, it will simply forget your language and show dismissed notices again.

  • "locale" cookie — remembers which language you chose. Expires after 30 days.
  • Session cookie — a standard Laravel session identifier, required for the contact form to work. Expires after 2 hours of inactivity.
  • "XSRF-TOKEN" cookie — a security token that protects the contact form against cross-site request forgery. Expires with the session.
  • "cp_cookie_ack_v1" in local storage — records that you dismissed this cookie notice, so it does not reappear on every visit. Kept until you clear your browser data.
  • "cp_nudge_seen_v1" in session storage — records that you have already seen the consultation prompt, so it appears at most once. Cleared when you close the tab.
  • "cp_typewriter_seen_v1" in session storage — records that the homepage headline animation has already played. Cleared when you close the tab.

Data Retention

Contact form enquiries are retained in our email mailbox, and WhatsApp conversations in WhatsApp, for as long as needed to provide our services and meet any legal or warranty obligations. Neither is copied into a database on this website. You may request deletion of your records at any time.

Your Rights (PDPA)

Under the PDPA you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw consent for further processing. To exercise these rights, message us via the WhatsApp number listed on this site or reply to any email you have received from us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page, with the "Last updated" date revised accordingly.
